How to Spa

  • Please drink enough water to remain fully hydrated.
  • Please remove all jewelry prior to your treatments; do not put jewelry in robe pockets.
  • All of our massage therapists are professionally certified. If you are uncomfortable with the massage for any reason (e.g., room temperature, depth of massage, music volume) please let your therapist know during the treatment.
  • It is important to let your therapist know if you have any special physical or medical needs or conditions. For example, if you have high blood pressure or a heart condition, it may be best to avoid body wraps, stone massage or any treatment that involves heat or detoxification.
  • If you’re allergic to iodine, avoid marine products such as seaweed.
  • If you have varicose veins, avoid heat treatments to those areas.
  • If you’re pregnant, avoid essential oils, detoxification and anything that could raise your body temperature, such as body wraps, saunas, steam rooms and whirlpools.
  • When you arrive at The Marsh, please identify yourself as a spa customer and a front desk receptionist will direct you to the spa. (robes and slippers are provided).
  • To ensure that your experience is as fulfilling as possible, please arrive at least 15 minutes before your services begin.
  • Help yourself relax through deep, regular breathing, emphasizing the exhalation and releasing tense areas.
  • Allow the therapist to move your limbs into whatever position required—just relax and enjoy your service.
  • Let the therapist know if anything feels uncomfortable or if you want more or less pressure. If you are troubled by tension in a specific area, please inform the therapist.
